Hawtai tyre change
Hawtai is a Chinese maker that started out building Hyundai designs under licence, which is why its range includes the Santa Fe Classic and Terracan alongside its own Boliger, Laville and Santa Fe 5 SUVs. Hawtai was not sold officially in the UAE and production has wound down, so cars here are imports.

The Hyundai-derived models share sizes with the original Korean cars: 225/70 R16 on the Santa Fe Classic and 255/65 R16 on many Terracans. The Boliger uses 225/70 R16 or 235/55 R18, the Santa Fe 5 225/60 R17 and the Laville 215/70 R16. All are standard SUV sizes, so replacement tyres are easy to find.
- Hyundai-based Hawtai models share sizes with the original Santa Fe and Terracan.
- Terracan 4x4 owners can fit A/T tyres in 255/65 R16 for gravel and sand.
- Check the DOT date code on older cars and replace aged tyres.
