The Defender is as much a desert vehicle as a city car in the UAE, running 255/70 R18 to 275/45 R22. On 18 and 20 inch wheels it suits all-terrain tyres for dune trips; on 22 inch wheels it is a road car, and the short sidewall is easily damaged off-road.
