Performance
Nitto's 4x4 tyres combine strong off-road traction with better road manners than their appearance suggests. The Ridge Grappler uses variable-pitch tread blocks to reduce the drone typical of mud-terrains, while its staggered shoulder lugs dig into sand and gravel when aired down.
On the performance side, the NT555 G2 delivers strong dry grip and stable high-speed behaviour for powerful rear-wheel-drive cars, though its wet grip is a step behind current Michelin or Continental tyres.
Durability
Nitto 4x4 tyres are durable: the Terra Grappler G2 commonly lasts 60,000–75,000 km on UAE SUVs and carries a manufacturer tread-life warranty in the US market, while the Ridge Grappler typically delivers 50,000–65,000 km. Their two- and three-ply sidewalls resist cuts on rocky Hatta and Ras Al Khaimah tracks.
The NT555 G2 wears faster, roughly 25,000–35,000 km, on powerful cars driven enthusiastically.
In UAE conditions
Nitto is a favourite at UAE off-road gatherings because the Ridge Grappler handles both soft dunes in Al Faya and rocky wadis in the Hajar mountains, then remains tolerable on the drive home along the E44 or E611. Air down to 12–16 PSI for soft sand and carry a compressor to reinflate.
For 4x4s used mostly as daily drivers in Dubai or Abu Dhabi, the Terra Grappler G2 is the better pick, being quieter and more efficient on the highway.
