Proton tyre change
Proton is Malaysia's national car brand, now partly owned by Geely. Its current SUVs are Geely designs: the X70 is based on the Geely Boyue and the X50 on the Geely Binyue, sold elsewhere as the Coolray. Proton has no official presence in the UAE today, so Protons here are older Gen-2, Persona and Saga models or personal imports.

The X70 uses 225/60 R18 or 225/55 R19, the X50 215/60 R17 or 215/55 R18, and the Saga 175/65 R14. The Persona runs 185/55 R15. Because the X50 shares its platform with the Geely Coolray, tyre sizes and stock are easier to find than the badge suggests.
- X50 sizes match many Geely Coolray fitments, which are common in the UAE.
- Malaysian-market Protons are right-hand drive; tyre sizes are unaffected.
- Older Gen-2 and Persona models often need tyres replaced for age, not wear.
