Smart tyre change
Smart is now a joint venture between Mercedes-Benz and Geely, and its new electric SUVs, the #1 and #3, launched in the UAE in late 2024 through AW Rostamani. The #1 uses 235/50 R18 or 235/45 R19, and the #3 runs 245/45 R19, or 245/40 R20 on the Brabus. These are heavy, powerful EVs, so tyre wear is faster than the compact size suggests.

Older Smart Fortwos are a completely different car. The rear-engined two-seater uses different sizes front and rear, such as 165/65 R15 front and 185/60 R15 rear, so the tyres cannot be rotated and the rears usually wear first. Many Fortwos in the UAE are older imports.
- The #1 and #3 are heavy EVs; choose EV-rated or XL tyres where specified.
- Brabus models wear tyres much faster because of their power; check tread regularly.
- Fortwo front and rear sizes differ; order the right size for each axle.
